Strong and confident for so young an athlete, she won the Australian Olympic trials in 55.88 secs. Must learn to 'run', rather than jump over the hurdles. She continues to improve and went on to win the Commonwealth title in Manchester. She ran a fantastic anchor leg for Australia in the 4x400m relay to win a gold medal.

Brooke Krueger threw the hammer 59.27m at the Olympic trials for 5th place. She represented Australia at the 2002 Commonwealth Games and improved her best to 67.87 while throwing in Europe, in spite of a broken bone in her ankle.
